Important Dates for April and May 2026

This list is intended as a resource to stay up to date with the latest deadlines regarding schemes and regulations in Irish agriculture. The information is correct at the time of publication but should only be used as a guide. Please contact the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) or your agricultural advisor for confirmation of these dates. 

April 

The deadline for submission of applications to the Open Call for Farmer Safety, Health and Wellbeing Projects is 5:00 pm on Wednesday, 1 April 2026. 

The Sheep Improvement Scheme application closing date is 23.59 pm on 29 April 2026. 

May 

New applicants must submit their application to the CSP Dairy Beef Welfare Scheme online through MyAgfood.ie before 23.59hrs on 15 May 2026.

The National Dairy Beef Weighing Scheme (NDBWS) 2026 is open for applications via MyAgfood.ie until midnight on 15 May 2026. Farmers must reapply for the scheme for 2026, even if they participated in NDBWS 2025.

Participants in ACRES who selected the Winter Bird Food option must have established the crop by 15 May 2026. 

Applications for the 2026 National Sheep Welfare Scheme must be submitted before 23.59 on 15 May 2026 

Applications for the Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) must be submitted online by midnight on Friday 15 May 2026. 

Applications under the Complementary Income Support for Young Farmers must be submitted on or before 15 May 2026 

The closing date for receipt of online applications for the Traditional Farm Buildings Grant Scheme is 18 May 2026.

The application window for the Early-Stage Support for Producer Organisations (ESSPO) scheme is open until 19 May 2026.
