What is Conditionality?
Conditionality is a CAP term for baseline conditions in the areas of climate and the environment, animal welfare, and public and plant health that all farmers that are beneficiaries under the CAP must adhere to. Such requirements were created to contribute to ensuring sustainable farming, environmental protection, and to protect the welfare of animals.
CAP Network Ireland has created the following four-part video series exploring Conditionality under the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), developed on behalf of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
This series is designed to provide farmers and stakeholders with a clear and practical understanding of Conditionality requirements, including key standards, obligations, and how they apply in day-to-day farming practices. Each video breaks down important aspects of the framework to support compliance and promote sustainable land management.
Whether you are new to CAP Conditionality or looking to refresh your knowledge, this series aims to guide you through the essential information in a straightforward and accessible way.
