The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine has announced plans for a nationwide rollout of face-to-face Farmer Clinics aimed at aiding farmers in completing their online applications for the Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) and other relevant area-based schemes.
The BISS Farmer Clinics are set to commence across various counties with the first one starting in The Woodstock Hotel, Ennis on the 2nd of April. All of the clinics will commence at 10am to 4.30pm. These BISS Farmer Clinics will feature Department personnel offering personalised assistance to farmers, ensuring their scheme applications are submitted ahead of Wednesday the 15th of May 2024 deadline. These clinics have proved to be of significant interest for farmers in previous years.
A total of 17 Farmer Clinics are on the agenda, offering farmers the opportunity to receive guidance from Departmental staff on various applications associated with area-based support schemes, including BISS. These clinics are especially beneficial for farmers lacking a FAS-approved advisor to aid them in their application process.
