A nationwide series of evening events celebrating the UN International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026 will be held across the country. The first will be held on Thursday, 23 July 2026 in Roscommon Town, Co. Roscommon. Admission is free of charge, but prior registration is required. ‘LEADER through the Years’ Showcase Event
Roscommon LEADER Partnership will welcome Dara Calleary Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, on Thursday, 30 July, for a special showcase event celebrating the impact of the LEADER Programme across County Roscommon over the past three decades. The event, taking place in Kilbride from 11am to 1pm, will highlight the achievements of community groups, rural enterprises, volunteers, and local leaders who have contributed to community-led local development throughout Roscommon.

New EU CAP Network Thematic Group (TG) on ‘Protein Crops – Scaling Production’ is open for Expressions of Interest.
Interested in how the EU can scale up protein crop production, reduce dependency on imports, and strengthen resilient food systems? Apply to join this TG by 9 August.
• Exchange with policymakers, farmers, researchers and value chain actors;
• Identify the factors that enable or hinder protein crop uptake in practice, in light of the European Commission’s Protein Action Plan;
• Shape discussions on CAP and policy tools that support a more autonomous and sustainable EU protein system;
• Visit inspiring projects of protein production in practice
Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show
Ireland's largest one-day show, averaging 60,000 visitors in recent years, with 700 Trade Stands from Agri Sectors, Home Industries, Farm Produce, Innovation, Forestry, Agri Machinery and more takes place on 9 August.
