Join for the second seminar in the new University of Galway-ATU Rural Voices Seminar Series, supported by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht.

Professor Michael Woods, Professor of Human Geography at Aberystwyth University and Director of Cymru Wledig LPIP Rural Wales, will explore “Using Research to Enhance Policy and Empower Communities”

Drawing on the experience of Rural Wales, Professor Woods will ask how research can better support rural policymaking, help communities develop their own evidence and solutions, and enable rural areas to respond to social, economic and environmental change. This is an opportunity for researchers, policymakers, practitioners and rural stakeholders to hear what works, what doesn’t, and what lessons can be applied to rural policy and practice in Ireland.
