Bord Bia Bloom, Ireland’s largest festival of horticulture, food, and sustainable living, returns for its 20th year on the June bank holiday weekend, 2026. With inspiring talks, amazing show gardens, delicious Irish food and hands-on workshops, it marks the un-official start of the Irish summer. Across a 28-hectare site in Phoenix Park, the festival offers five days filled with live entertainment, interactive experiences, shopping, dining and endless opportunities to grow, taste, and learn. Whether you're a gardener, have an interest in Irish food, are looking at ways to diversify your farm enterprise or you are simply looking for a great day out, Bloom has something for everyone.

Bord Bia Bloom offers significant opportunities for commercial growers and horticulturalists to expand their businesses, showcase expertise, and network. As the premier industry event in Ireland, it provides an opportunity to exhibit, access industry mentorship, and gain brand exposure to over 100,000 visitors expected over the weekend.

The horticulture sector contributed €644m in total farmgate value in 2025, with the overall value of the sector to the Irish economy estimated to be over €1 Billion (Teagasc Horticulture Road Map 2030, published 2 April 2026). In 2025, Horticulture provided jobs for 7,000 people in primary production and an additional 11,000 in amenity and downstream services. Bord Bia supports the sector year-round by promoting, marketing, and developing markets for produce, including mushrooms, nursery stock, and fresh produce. They drive commercial success through quality assurance schemes, consumer market insights, and hosting events like Bloom to boost visibility of horticulture in Ireland.

This year Teagasc, Bord Bia and the Department of Agriculture, Food & Marine are coming together at Bloom to create an inspiring, informative and educational feature in the Food Village. Under the theme “Horticulture is Life”, the interactive feature will exhibit how the three organisations work collectively to support the Irish Horticulture Industry and growers, to deliver top quality local sustainable produce and plants. The importance of our domestic horticulture industry will be highlighted along with the role it plays in securing our national food supply in a sustainable and innovative way into the future. Teagasc will also have displays showcasing how Irish growers are using natural methods, beneficial insects, and biological controls to manage pests and diseases, there will be demonstrations of a high-tech vertical tower used to grow herbs using hydroponics and LED lights, information on horticultural, forestry, and crop production education courses, including new apprenticeships through the Teagasc College of Horticulture at the National Botanic Gardens and Kildalton College, and insights into Teagasc’s cutting edge food research programme, including plant-based foods, nutrition, and reducing food waste.
