Traditional Farm Buildings Scheme Needs Your Vote

The Traditional Farm Buildings Scheme was honoured in 2024 with the prestigious European Heritage Award 2024. This award was given in recognition of the contribution the scheme has made to the preservation and enhancement of Ireland’s agricultural built heritage. The Traditional Farm Buildings Scheme was one of a number of award winners across different categories. The general public are now being asked to select an overall winner from the Public Choice element of the Europa Nostra Heritage 2024 awards.

The Traditional Farm Buildings Scheme is co-funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) and the EU under the Rural Development Programme, and is administered by the Heritage Council. The scheme protects farm buildings which are heritage assets that are in danger of dilapidation and it has successfully conserved over 1,000 traditional farm buildings so far.
