CRISS

Pillar 1

General Overview:

The Complementary Redistributive Income Support for Sustainability (CRISS) is an intervention program aimed at redistributing Common Agriculture Policy (CAP) funds from larger farms to medium and smaller ones.

It operates by providing payments to active farmers based on their first 30 hectares.

Details on the scheme:

To qualify, applicants need to participate in the Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) scheme, hold at least one payment entitlement, and meet the criteria of an “active farmer”. The payment rate, likely around €43 per hectare for the initial 30 hectares, isn’t linked to the number of entitlements held.

Rates may fluctuate based on participation.

Budget:

Total allocated intervention per annum is €118m, amounting to €590m for CSP 2023–2027

Applications for CRISS are made through the BISS application process and can be completed online at agfood.ie
