The EU CAP Network are seeking participants eager to share their knowledge and experience at their ‘On-farm demonstrations for peer-to-peer learning & innovation’ seminar in Mestre, Venice, Italy, from 17 June 2025 to 18 June 2025. The seminar will focus on innovation, knowledge exchange and EIP-AGRI.
Farmers, advisors, agricultural schools, projects and representatives from initiatives related to on-farm demonstrations and demonstration farms, including EIP-AGRI Operational Group projects Horizon projects and other stakeholders interested in sharing their knowledge on the topic are encouraged to apply.
The use of on-farm demonstrations is an essential tool for peer-to-peer learning, enhance the setup up and visibility of demonstration farms, and foster their networks and connections with other relevant initiatives. On-farm demonstrations can be supported under the common agricultural policy and Horizon programmes to advance knowledge exchange. Furthermore, they can be used to develop and disseminate innovative solutions from EIP-AGRI Operational Group projects (OGs) and Horizon multi-actor projects.
This seminar will highlight the benefits of on-farm demonstration activities as a key tool for peer-to-peer learning, regardless of the funding source (CAP, Horizon or other funding sources). It will promote the exchange of good practices, providing inspiration for setting up new demonstration farms, their connections and networks, and systematically place on-farm demonstration activities within existing AKIS structures.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
• explore good practices in the organisation of on-farm demonstrations, including facilitation for peer-to-peer learning
• discuss the structural and practical challenges and opportunities for setting-up, financing, operating and managing of demonstration farms and their networks and embedding them in the AKIS structures
• explore the role of on-farm demonstrations during and after the EIP-AGRI Operational Groups and Horizon projects in improving the uptake of new knowledge and innovation by farmers
• assess what is missing and what can be improved to reach scale and harness the full potential of on-farm demonstrations and demonstration farms for the benefit of farmers
The event will include field visits where participants can network and exchange ideas to accelerate the uptake of best innovative practices.
If you are interested in participating and actively sharing your experience and innovative ideas, please fill in the application form before 02 March 2025, 23:59 CET.
