The latest edition of the EU CAP Network’s LEADER newsletter is now available. This publication offers an overview of key LEADER activities facilitated by the EU CAP Network and its national partners, along with inspiring success stories on the ground. Produced quarterly, the newsletter includes a wealth of insights.
Headlining the June 2026 edition is an update on the future of LEADER/CLLD, exploring the latest developments following proposals for the next Multiannual Financial Framework and the Common Agricultural Policy post-2028. The article looks at stakeholder discussions, and the proposed ‘rural target’ as part of the ongoing debate on the future direction of LEADER.
Elsewhere in the newsletter, readers can learn about new opportunities for Local Action Group (LAG) cooperation, including potential transnational projects focused on rural youth engagement, green practices and stronger rural-urban links. The edition also highlights an upcoming workshop on LEADER and Social Resilience in Lithuania in June.
Other highlights in this edition include stories on LEADER experiences in Ukraine, the role of Danish LAGs in demonstrating the wider value of local development, and examples of climate action driven by rural communities. The newsletter also features the latest instalment of the ‘What are LAGs working on?’ series, showcasing projects from Portugal and Greece, alongside insights from the ‘Our Common Future’ LEADER project.
