Community Groups Awarded LEADER funding in Co. Wexford

Wexford Local Development recently announced the allocation of €402,840 towards the costs of developing outdoor social & recreational spaces and biodiversity projects. 12 community groups successfully completed the application and evaluation process to be awarded funding under the most recent LEADER Programme funding call in Co. Wexford.

Making the announcement, Michael Wall, Chairperson of Wexford Local Development & Wexford’s Local Action Group said, “Each community group has worked hard to evidence the need for their proposed project, to show their own capability as a group to oversee each stage of the project and manage it into the future.  I congratulate each community group on their funding award and the continuing work they do to develop and sustain villages and facilities throughout our county.”

  • Ben Mulhall Memorial Park – Walking Track Development
  • All Blacks AFC – Walking Track Development
  • Curracloe United Trust Company Ltd – Walking Track Development
  • Glynn Barntown GAA Club – Walking Track Development
  • Rathgarogue Community Co-op Society Ltd – Development of Community Park
  • Rathnure Community Development CLG – Development of Community Park
  • Rosslare Harbour/ Kilrane Environment Group – Walking Track Development / Repairs
  • St Josephs GAA Club – Walking Track Development
  • St Leonards FC CLG – Walking Track Development
  • Taghmon Camross GAA Club – Walking Track Upgrade
  • Wexford Arts Centre – Development of Community Garden
  • Kilmore GAA Club – Development of Community Garden

Wexford’s LEADER Programme is delivered by Wexford Local Development. From 2023-2027 there is a total of €5.4million available to support community development and the creation of jobs by niche green economy, food and tourism businesses. Interested community groups and niche businesses can find out more at www.wld.ie/leader.
