CAP Network Ireland’s Celebrations for International Women’s Week

Mar 16, 2024 | News

During International Women’s Week, CAP Network Ireland actively engaged in celebrating and recognising the achievements of women in the agricultural and rural sectors through a multifaceted approach. We launched a social media campaign that not only presented relevant statistics about women in agriculture but also spotlighted the support systems available to them within Ireland’s CAP Strategic Plan (CSP) through engaging infographics.

We also promoted the previous National Rural Network (NRN) Women in Agriculture booklet, emphasising its valuable insights. Additionally, we produced a short clip showcasing the innovative women featured in the booklet along with participating in the ‘Resilient Industry: Adapting to Change’ event in Laois, organised by Macra na Feirme and the Agricultural Science Association (ASA).

A central element of our campaign was the creation of a video highlighting the remarkable innovations by women in agriculture and rural areas. This video highlighted their adaptability to the evolving agricultural landscape.

Throughout International Women’s Week, our focus remained on illuminating the various supports and resources available to women in the agricultural sectors. Our campaign aimed not only to raise awareness about the challenges faced by women in these fields but also to spotlight their innovative approaches in enterprise development and income generation, addressing the evolving needs of their customers.

CAP Network Ireland provided a platform to celebrate the accomplishments of women in agriculture and highlight their pivotal role in shaping the industry. The campaign effectively highlighted the innovative ideas and enterprises led by women while showcasing the support structures within the CSP to facilitate their ongoing success.
