Are you a community, SME, or private individual looking to tackle climate change?
Cavan LEADER Local Action Group has announced details of a targeted call for applicants to engage consultants and experts to conduct analysis and development research. This includes feasibility studies and climate action plans to help applicant proposals for climate mitigation or adaptation actions.
Typical project types welcomed under this call include:
• Studies to examine the feasibility for the development of green resources with a community e.g. community energy initiatives including solar farms, wind, hydro and/or installing e-car charging points etc.
• Feasibility studies to assist new green sustainable start up enterprises (SME’s, Farmers & Social Enterprises).
• Develop a strategy to support community initiatives that encourage people to grow their own food, community gardens and allotments.
• Support climate action or environmental networks to prepare plans/strategies to manage their resources and develop a road-map (5 year) to assist them to implement focused strategic actions to address climate change in County Cavan.
The list of possible project types above is not exhaustive and is designed to assist applicants prepare for investment in projects adopting green technologies or systems which lessen or prevent climate change.
Budget for Call
Total Budget: €150,000 | Maximum Level of Funding: Up to €15,000 per project | Minimum Level of Funding: €5,000.
Maximum rates of grant aid:
– 90% for community applicants.
– 75% for private sector/SME applicants.
Call for Expressions of Interest
If you have a project idea, the first step is the submission of a FULLY completed ‘Expression of Interest’ (EOI) form. The completed EOI form, should be emailed to leader@ccld.ie before 3pm on Monday 6 October 2025. EOI forms can be downloaded on the Cavan County Local Development website.
