The CAP Network Ireland website serves as a hub of information for the Irish agricultural sector, with resources for those in research, policy, advisory services and farmers on the ground. With news and events, information about schemes, and the latest outputs from our Innovation Hub, there’s a wealth of knowledge to be explored. As we kick off a new year, now is the perfect time to explore what our website has to offer.
Schemes
Learn more about schemes under Ireland’s CAP Strategic Plan (CSP) for the period 2023-2027, which are designed to support farmers and rural communities while promoting sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, and climate action. The Schemes page is divided by CAP theme (Climate Change, Green Architecture etc.) and each scheme has its own dedicated information page (Eco-Scheme, BISS etc.). You can search for schemes by CAP theme or search by Pillar 1 and Pillar 2.
Innovation
Our Innovation Hub is home to our three pilots for the horticulture, organic, and EIP-AGRI sectors. Here you will find a selection of knowledge gathered from researchers in the sector that may help inform better practices and solutions to issues facing the agricultural sector in Ireland. The hub is also home to materials shared and discussed at Ireland’s AKIS (agricultural knowledge and innovation systems) meetings, which are attended by a wide variety of stakeholders from agriculture, forestry, rural development, and other related areas.
Bioeconomy
Dive into Ireland’s bioeconomy with our dedicated Bioeconomy page. The bioeconomy covers all sectors (including agriculture, horticulture, forestry, fisheries and aquaculture) and systems (including nature, land, food, energy, built environment and health). It is the part of the economy that uses renewable biological resources such as animals, plants, micro-organisms, and derived biomass and organic waste to produce food, feed, bio-based products, energy and services, while also reducing waste.
Case Studies & Innovation Spotlights
Understand the experiences of farmers and researchers through our Case Studies and Innovation Spotlight series. Hear from those working on the ground, the changes they’ve made, and the good work they are doing. We are so grateful to all who have shared their stories with us and are always eager to hear from others who could contribute to our case studies and innovation spotlights.
Educational Resources
We have gathered all the third level agricultural courses into one place, making it easier for prospective students to inform their educational decisions. There are also a number of useful websites collated for stakeholders to explore in relation to their work and a glossary of useful terms across the topics of green architecture, climate change, farm viability, bio economy and innovation.
Other Useful Resources
If you are in need of an Irish agricultural image for your newsletter or website, we have a number of free to use images on our website. Simply download any image from our image library. If you’ve missed any of our online or printed publications, you can find them all on our publications page, which is updated regularly.
Last but not least, if you have any questions or can’t find information that would be helpful to you, please contact a member of our team through the Helpdesk.
