The EU CAP Network provides a forum for anyone with an interest in sustainable agriculture, forestry and rural development in Europe to exchange knowledge and information. Its website features a dedicated LEADER and community-led local development (CLLD) section, which acts as a central hub for Local Action Groups (LAGs), managing authorities, advisors and rural stakeholders involved in LEADER delivery. The platform offers guidance, tools and inspiration to assist LEADER projects at every stage.
A comprehensive resources library gives users access to a ‘Good Practices’ database, which showcases innovative projects from across Europe. The site also features a wide range of publications, evaluation reports, and policy insights, alongside a dedicated legislation section that brings together key EU legal texts in one accessible location.
The LEADER Tools webpage supports collaboration through the ‘LAG Directory’, which includes contact details and thematic priorities for LAGs for the 2023–2027 programming period. Additional tools currently under development include a ‘Partner Search’ function, enabling LAGs to identify transnational cooperation partners by sharing their ideas and needs, and an expanded ‘LEADER Toolkit’ to support stakeholders in programme design and delivery.
The LEADER section is regularly updated with news, events, and new resources. The quarterly LEADER Newsletter, for example, provides a round-up of key LEADER-related activities supported by the EU CAP Network and its national partners, along with inspiring stories from the ground. CAP Network Ireland contributes to this work as an active member of the EU CAP Network Subgroup on LEADER and territorial development, which meets annually to strengthen the delivery of LEADER and community-led local development (CLLD) through collaboration, knowledge exchange, capacity building, and the sharing of good practice.
