Important Dates for September and October 2025

This list is intended as a resource to stay up to date with the latest deadlines regarding schemes and regulations in Irish agriculture. The information is correct at the time of publication but should only be used as a guide. Please contact the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) or your agricultural advisor for confirmation of these dates.

September

Tranche 9 of the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS 3) closed for applications at midnight on Friday, 5 September 2025.

Tranche 10 of the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS 3) opened for applications on 10 September 2025.

Unprotected urea (i.e. urea that has not been coated with a urease inhibitor) in solid form will no longer be permitted to be spread on land after 14 September 2025.

The spreading of chemical fertilisers will be prohibited in all parts of the country from 15 September 2025.

There are up to 50 places available in ACORNS 11. Those wishing to apply must first register their interest via the website. The deadline for applications is midnight, 22 September 2025.

The closing date for applications to the Beef Welfare Scheme is 23.59:59hrs on 24 September 2025.

Under the 2025 Multi Species Sward Measure, the sward must be successfully established by 30 September 2025.

October

The spreading of organic fertilisers (other than farmyard manure) is prohibited from 1 October 2025.
