Important Dates for April and May

This list is intended as a resource to stay up to date with the latest deadlines regarding schemes and regulations in Irish agriculture. The information is correct at the time of publication but should only be used as a guide. Please contact the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) or your agricultural advisor for confirmation of these dates.

April

Open Call for Proposals for Forestry Promotion Projects for 2025/2026. The closing date for applications is 5pm Monday 28th of  April 2025

Applications for Year 3 of the Sheep Improvement Scheme must be made on agfood.ie by 11.59 pm on the 29th of April 2025.

May

Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) applications must be submitted online by midnight on Thursday 15th of May 2025 through agfood.ie.

National Reserve (Young Farmer) and National Reserve (New farmer) applications must be submitted on or before 15th of May 2025 through agfood.ie.

Applications under the Complementary Income Support for Young Farmers must be submitted on or before the 15th of May 2025 through agfood.ie.

All GAEC 7 Share Farm documents must be submitted by the 15th of May 2025.

2025 Multi Species Sward Measure application for support must be made through the BISS online application system, with a closing date for applications of 15th May 2025.

Applications for the 2025 National Dairy Beef Welfare Scheme must be lodged online through agfood.ie before midnight on Thursday, 15th of May 2025.

National Sheep Welfare Scheme applications must be submitted before 23.59 on the 15th of May 2025 and can be made by a farmer, or an approved FAS advisor acting on their behalf, using the online facility at www.agfood.ie.
