Important Dates for February and March 2026

This list is intended as a resource to stay up to date with the latest deadlines regarding schemes and regulations in Irish agriculture. The information is correct at the time of publication but should only be used as a guide. Please contact the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) or your agricultural advisor for confirmation of these dates. 

February 

Spreading of slurry and farmyard manure is permitted in Zone C from 01 February 2026  

Applicants wishing to have their Registered Farm Partnership number in time to submit by the 2026 BISS deadline, must submit fully completed application and requirements by 2 February 2026. 

Spreading of chemical fertilisers (N and P) is permitted in Zone C from 15 February 2026  

Proposals call for Agri-Food Tourism initiatives closes to applications at 12 noon on Wednesday, 25 February 2026 

While the deadline for the submission of Annual Declarations for the Low Emission Slurry Spreading (LESS) action under ACRES was 31 October 2025, outstanding LESS Declarations in respect of 2025 must be submitted, using the online portal, by 28 February 2026.    

While the deadline for the submission of the Annual Declaration for the Conservation of Rare Breeds action, under ACRES, in respect of 2024 was 15 November 2025, outstanding returns must be submitted, using the ACRES Rare Breeds online portal on the AgFood system, by 28 February 2026.  

All remaining ACRES soil sample results, or soil sample exemption forms, must be uploaded by 28 February 2026. It should be noted that documents submitted by post or email will not be accepted.   

March 

ACRES Tranche 1 participants can still attend voluntary ACRES Training courses scheduled for dates up to and including 31 March 2026.

The deadline for submission of ACRES CP payment claims in respect of the implementation of Non-Productive Investments (NPIs) approved in participants 2023 Annual Works Plans (AWP) is 31 March 2026.
