Are you sitting on an idea that could transform your community, farm, or business?
Dublin Rural LEADER is now inviting applications for a Targeted Call for Feasibility Studies under four key themes that support sustainable, inclusive, and forward-thinking development in rural Dublin. They are offering grant support up to 90% funding to a max of €30,000 to help you explore the viability of innovative projects that can make a real difference across the following themes:
🌿 1. Green Economy
From renewable energy to sustainable tourism, circular economy solutions, and eco-friendly products, they want to help you test ideas that support a low-carbon, climate-conscious future. Explore innovative ideas like renewable energy (solar, wind, biomass), upcycling, community composting or zero-waste business models.
🚜 2. Agricultural Diversification
Have a plan to expand beyond traditional farming? This theme is for exploring new on-farm or off-farm ventures like agri-tourism, farm shops, or artisan food production. Explore diversification ideas like productivity analysis, value-added food products, on-farm renewable energy, smart agri-tech, agri-tourism, regenerative farming—or other innovative approaches!
🏗️ 3. Rural Infrastructure
They are supporting studies into the development of facilities and services that boost rural life. Think shared workspaces, rural transport solutions, accessibility and inclusion, connectivity analysis, active travel solutions—or other smart ways to build rural resilience together!
🏘️ 4. Social, Community & Cooperative Enterprises
Feasibility support is available for community-led services, social enterprises and cooperatives addressing local needs and delivering real social impact. Think local food networks, repair cafés, service gap mapping, community partnerships—or whatever your community needs most!
What Is a Feasibility Study?
A feasibility study is a structured way of evaluating whether a proposed idea or project is viable. With the benefit of expert advice, it looks at multiple factors to help you decide if the project is worth pursuing.
These factors often include:
– Market research: Is there a need or demand?
– Financial planning: What are the costs and potential sources of funding?
– Technical feasibility: What infrastructure, equipment, or expertise is needed?
– Local impact: How will the project benefit the community or region?
