The Organic Village returns to this year’s National Ploughing Championships, offering visitors a vibrant showcase of Ireland’s growing organic sector. Jointly hosted by the Department of Agriculture’s Organic Unit and the National Organic Training Skillnet (NOTS), the marquee will bring together more than 30 organisations, food producers, and innovators under one roof.

From household names such as Flahavan’s, Glenisk and Aurivo’s Organic For Us brand, to pioneering groups like Irish Seed Savers, Organic Growers of Ireland (OGI), and Farming for Nature, the Organic Village reflects the diversity and innovation within Irish organics. Visitors can learn about everything from agroforestry and horticulture to organic beef and lamb production, food nutrition, seed saving, and community-based food initiatives such as The Urban Co-op.

“The Organic Village is about more than just switching your farming practices, – it’s about food, community, and the vibrancy of the sector,” says Kevin Fagan, Operations Manager at NOTS. “We’re proud to be co-hosting this space with the Department of Agriculture’s Organic Unit, creating a hub where farmers, consumers, and businesses can connect and see what’s possible in organics today.”

Alongside key agencies such as the Irish Organic Association, Organic Trust, Teagasc and Bord Bia, the marquee will also feature grassroots organisations including Talamh Beo, Social Farming Ireland, the IFA’s Organic Unit, and regional farmer groups – all offering practical insights into how organics can deliver both viable livelihoods and climate solutions.

“This year’s line-up shows the real breadth of organics in Ireland,” adds Fagan. “Whether you’re a farmer curious about making the switch, a consumer interested in where your food comes from, or a policymaker shaping the future of Irish agriculture, the Organic Village has something for you this year.”

With expert advice, inspiring talks, and the chance to meet some of the country’s most dedicated organic producers, the Organic Village promises to be one of the highlights of the Ploughing. Visitors are warmly invited to stop by, explore, and take part in the conversation about Ireland’s organic future.
