The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine held 17 in-person Farmer Clinics across the country from the 2nd of April to the 9th of May. These clinics were organised to assist farmers in making their applications for the Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) and other area-based schemes. CAP Network Ireland attended 6 of these clinics to raise our profile amongst the farming community and encourage farmers to join the Network.
CAP Network Ireland took advantage of the wide geographical spread of our team to have a presence at clinics in Oranmore, Athlone, Enniscorthy, Killarney, Clonmel and Mitchelstown.
Clinics were well attended by farmers and CAP Network Ireland was delighted to see so many farmers recognising the value of the Network by choosing to join on the day. In particular, farmers liked the idea of receiving regular updates on schemes and innovations provided through the CAP Network Ireland e-Bulletin and social media posts.
The BISS clinics were a very useful medium for farmers and officials to interact and deal with any issues that farmers may have. Many farmers who came to the clinics with concerns about their applications were delighted with the service they received and left the clinic with peace of mind.
