Call for Projects to Optimise Digital Connectivity in Roscommon

Roscommon LEADER Partnership recently announced the launch of a new targeted call as part of the 2023-2027 LEADER Programme. This call focuses on optimising digital connectivity in County Roscommon, with the goal of increasing access to reliable, high-speed broadband while reducing digital poverty. The initiative will support rural enterprises, community organisations, local businesses, and rural communities in bridging the digital divide.

Expression of Interest (EOI) forms are now available, with a submission deadline of May 2nd, 2025, at 15:00.

Examples of initiatives and projects within this action include:

  • Eligible small-scale equipment, such as boosters and broadband-enabled desk space/facilities and broadband hotspots for communities and local businesses where demand is identified, in areas not covered through any other funding scheme/initiative.
  • Support for businesses looking to transition to a remote or hybrid working model.
  • Innovative solutions to improve broadband/fibre access for businesses and the community.

Eligible entities are encouraged to apply, including:

  • Rural Enterprises (including social, community, or cooperative enterprises): Small and medium-sized businesses looking to optimise their digital infrastructure.
  • Community Organisations and Hubs: Local organisations and hubs that serve the community, including social and cooperative enterprises.
  • Rural Communities: Areas facing challenges in accessing high-speed, reliable broadband.

Overall Budget for the Call: €185,000

Maximum Rates of Grant Aid:

  • Up to 75% for Capital Projects
  • Up to 90% for Analysis & Development Projects
