Vote for your Favourite Irish Finalist in EU Awards

Nov 26, 2024 | EIP-AGRI, LEADER

Two exceptional Irish projects have been nominated as finalists in the EU CAP Network’s Agricultural and Rural Inspiration Awards (ARIA) 2024. These awards search for the greenest, smartest, most socially inclusive, innovative and resilient Common Agriculture Policy (CAP) projects implemented at a local level.

From over 100 entries across Europe, Farm Carbon EIP and the LEADER supported Galway Wool Co-op – both nominated by CAP Network Ireland for these awards – are two of only 24 projects to have made the final shortlist.

• A finalist in the ‘Environmental Protection’ category, the Farm Carbon EIP project is committed to finding sustainable solutions to reducing carbon dioxide emissions from agricultural peat pastures. You can watch a short project video below.

• A finalist in the ‘Socio-Economic Fabric of Rural Areas’ category, the Galway Wool Co-op works to restore the value of a natural Irish fibre and to ensure that local farmers are paid a fair price for their product. You can watch a short project video below.

Congratulations to both of these Irish projects, which have been singled out as good practice examples in their fields.

While a jury will ultimately decide the winners of each of the four thematic categories, as well as the gender equality award, the ‘Popular Vote’ winner will be decided by you! Please show your support for one of these Irish projects by casting your vote before 5pm on Sunday, 1 December.
