TAMS 3 Priority Approval Mechanism Opens for Tranche 2 Applicants

The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM), has announced that the priority approval mechanism for Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS 3) applications is now open for Tranche 2.

In 2023, priority approvals were issued for farmers who needed to commence works urgently. This facility is in place again for all farmers and their advisors. Those who submitted a TAMS 3 application under Tranche 2, and who have an urgent requirement to commence works, are urged to contact their local Department of Agriculture office. The application will then be assessed to determine whether there is an urgent need to issue approval, and it will be prioritised accordingly.

Tranche 3 of TAMS 3 is still open for applications until the 12th of April 2024. The scheme continues to be popular with farmers looking to invest in facilities on their farms. A total of 9,110 applications were submitted during Tranche 2, which closed for applications on the 19th of January with all eligible applications being approved.

The Farm Safety Capital Investment Scheme and the Animal Welfare Nutrient Storage Schemes were the most popular schemes in Tranche 2 with 3113 and 2200 applications being submitted respectively. In contrast, there were only 217 applications submitted to the Dairy Equipment Scheme and 46 applications submitted to Pig and Poultry Investment Scheme, making them the least popular schemes among applicants in Tranche 2.
