The incidence of high level precipitation events\, soil moisture deficits and prolonged winter conditions are becoming increasingly frequent resulting in challenging conditions for Irish farmers. \nThe objective of this conference is to identify the significant risks and opportunities for Irish grassland systems and to highlight the knowledge gaps that may exist which require an additional research focus. The conference will look at key areas such as: \n\ngrass/clover breeding\ngrassland modelling\nweather and grass production trends\nlatest research findings\n\nThe conference is very much focussed to addressing the key climate adaptations that Irish grassland needs to address in the years ahead.

The 2024 National Organic Awards will take place on Thursday\, October 17th\, 2024 in the Bord Bia Global Hub in Dublin. This event aims to recognise developments within the organic sector across seven key categories\, judged by a panel of experts. \nThe winners will be announced at an award ceremony that celebrates the best of organic food from Ireland. Judging will take place at the National Organic Food Fair in Merrion Square on the 31st August 2024. \nThis year we’re excited to announce there is a new special award focused on recognising an individual who is leading by example for the Irish organic sector and will be crowned The Irish Organic Sector Champion 2024. This award will be nominated by others in the sector. \nKey dates: \n\n19th August: Closing date for applications\n31st August: Shortlisted tastings\, judging and photoshoot at the National Organic Food Fair Merrion Square Dublin\n17th October: Award Ceremony
