SUMMARY:Rooted in Strength : Women\, Climate & Food Justice
DESCRIPTION:Join us to explore and try to solve the difficulties that farmers face in Ireland due to climate change and our current food system.\n\n\n\nThis event is for anyone interested in learning about\, or advocating for local food systems – policy makers\, people working for services and agencies\, practitioners\, researchers\, activists\, campaigners and small businesses using or interested in using local ingredients in their products. \n\n\n\n\nWe will: \n*Strengthen climate resilience by developing meaningful connections between local food producers—especially women—and key decision-makers \n*Bridge the gap between local growers and practitioners and policymakers to support the development of climate-conscious\, community-rooted supply chains. \n*Encourage a cultural shift toward valuing and supporting local growers\, even amid increasingly unpredictable climate conditions. \n*Promote knowledge exchange that enables local producers to secure stable markets while reducing the environmental impact of long-distance food distribution. \n*Cocreate strategies for advocating within local food systems.

SUMMARY:Closing Date: Photo Competition to Celebrate Year of the Woman Farmer
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Agriculture\, Food and The Marine\, in association with CAP Network Ireland\, are running a Women in Agriculture photo competition to mark the International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026. It aims to recognise the vital role of women in agri-food systems and address the lack of images of female farmers\, fishers\, foresters\, and food producers for use in agri-communications and campaigns.\n\n\n\nThe competition will highlight women in farming and rural areas while aligning with the National Action Plan for Women in Agriculture\, which seeks to address the lack women-focused imagery in agri-food communications. Publicly available imagery of women is essential for appropriate recognition and representation of women farmers.
